Heavy Equipment Operator - Road Maintenance (Red Sky Ranch POA, St. Johns, AZ)

Red Sky Ranch Property Owners Association is seeking a reliable, experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to maintain and improve our 125 miles of privately maintained roads on a regular/ongoing basis. Red Sky Ranch prides itself on having the best roads of any POA, and we need qualified help to maintain this level of quality. This is a great opportunity for a skilled operator who takes pride in quality work and wants steady hours in beautiful rural Northeast Arizona.

Position Overview:

• Operate heavy equipment to maintain and improve privately maintained N-roads within the Red Sky Ranch community.

• Work will be assigned/approved by the POA President. You will collaborate directly with the President and Roads Committee to develop road design requirements and maintenance schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

• Grade, blade, and maintain ranch roads to POA provided or approved standards.

• Document work with before-and-after photos.

• Keep accurate daily logs of personnel time and machine hours for all POA equipment used.

• Provide recommendations for road or equipment improvements.

• Follow all safety protocols, incident reporting procedures, and maintain a drug-free work environment.

Equipment & Maintenance:

• POA equipment is available for use. When using POA-provided equipment, the operator may be required to perform minor repairs, oil changes, greasing, and routine maintenance, and keep accurate logs of all maintenance performed and materials used.

• Operators with their own suitable heavy equipment are encouraged to apply — we are open to contracting for use of your equipment (which may factor into compensation).

****Contractor liability insurance naming Red Sky Ranch POA as additionally insured is required whether using equipment be it POA owned, rented or furnished by the contractor.****

Compensation:

• Negotiable, starting discussion at $25.00 per hour based on experience, equipment provided, and final contract terms.

• Paid on the 1st and 15th of each month.

• Flexible scheduling based on weather and needs.

Preferred Skills (a plus):

• Knowledge of road construction and maintenance in a primarily sandy environment.

• Experience working adjacent to BLM and State land.

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license and clean/current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

• Relevant heavy equipment operation experience and certifications.

• Ability to work independently and professionally.

• Must be willing to follow POA policies, including substance testing if an incident occurs.

• Reliable transportation to the job site.

This is an at-will position. The successful candidate will report directly to the POA President.
